FAQ
How do I check stock for a specific item?
Use the Item/Group filter to search for the item by name.
Why does the report show zero for some warehouses?
Zero means the item has no stock in that warehouse. Verify that recent receipts and transfers have been conducted.
Can I export the report?
Use the browser's print function or copy the data to a spreadsheet.
Why do stock balances change "for no reason"?
Only conducted documents change stock, but not every change is visible right away:
- Register sales deduct items from the point's warehouse, and selling a dish or semi-finished product deducts its ingredients according to the calculation in effect.
- Backdated documents. A receipt, write-off or transfer conducted, edited or deleted with a past date changes stock from that date onward — including every later figure.
- Recipe edits. Changing an active calculation recalculates all material write-offs from its effective date.
- Unconducting removes the document's movement from stock.
To find the cause of a negative balance, turn on the Only negative balance filter and hover over the icon next to a negative quantity: the Why the balance is negative hint lists the common causes — the receipt was not created or not posted, it was posted with a date later than the sale, the receipt and the sale are on different item cards, units of measure differ, a transfer between warehouses was not posted, or the receipt was deleted or changed retroactively.
Which figures in the Stock Balance report are accurate?
The report calculates stock as of the selected date from conducted documents; unconducted documents are not included. The figures can be trusted when there is no warning above the table saying "The specified period lies outside the point of relevance. The information received may be unreliable." If the warning is shown, some documents have not been recalculated yet: click Restore sequence, wait until processing finishes ("Processing document … of …"), and build the report again. Documents can be checked and reconducted in bulk for a period on the Document Conduct page.
