POS settings — Paloma365 Classic (Windows POS)
This article is about Paloma365 Classic, the POS program for Windows, and its local settings — the settings window opened on the POS computer itself, affecting only that machine. Outlet settings in the web dashboard (menus, prices, employees, permissions) sync to every register; local settings cover this specific computer: hardware, appearance, print forms, sync, integrations.
How to open the settings
- On the main screen of the POS, press the Settings button.
- An on-screen keyboard appears with the prompt Enter settings password.
- Enter the password — the settings window opens.
The password is local to each POS computer. The default is 00000; change it on the Settings password tab so cashiers cannot change settings on their own.
Tabs: what is configured where

Program information panel: set in the dashboard, not on the register
The settings window carries a list of program information — "parameter — value" lines. It only shows them: the POS reads the values from the outlet card in the dashboard. Among them:
- "Database type", "Database name", "Host", "Port" — the outlet database connection;
- "Account", "Point of sales", "Workplace", "Menu" — who this register works as and where;
- "Service charge percentage" and "Service charge percentage in "Sales mode"";
- "Sub-orders in a "Waiter" interface", "Sub-orders in a "Sales-mode" interface", "Print "Bill"", "Print "Prebill"";
- "Use fiscal device", "Z-report after shift is closed", "Ask for the quantity of an item when chosen", "Use premises".
If a value in this list is wrong, change it in the dashboard — "Points of sale", the card of that outlet (see Points of sale) — and sign in to the POS again. These lines are not editable on the register itself, and looking for them among the settings tabs is pointless.
The options window on the sales screen is different — it holds order operations, not settings. A small session-parameters dialog in the payment window toggles requesting the customer's tax ID (IIN) and e-mail.
General settings tab in detail
Key checkboxes (names as shown in the English interface):

Receipts and reports tab in detail
Besides printers and templates (see Receipt printing), the tab has print options:

| «Print VAT in prebills» | VAT is printed on the receipt (a VAT percent field sits next to it). |

Program appearance tab: a button disappeared from the sales screen
If a button "disappeared" from the POS, it is almost always a checkbox on this tab:
- «Hide "SERVICE CHARGE"», «Hide "DISCOUNT"», «Hide "TABLE"», «Hide "GUESTS"», «Hide "BARCODE"» — hide the matching buttons on the sales screen. Untick to bring the button back.
- «Show "Stop-list"», «Show "Quick search"», «Show "Return" in retail» — add buttons to the screen. If a button is missing, tick it.
- «Disable interface switch menu» — removes quick switching to other interfaces: on the sales screen the list of interfaces disappears from the menu (the menu button itself stays); on the other POS screens the interface-switch button is hidden.
The tab also configures button and font sizes, tile images, background, «Item display limit», «Do not show items while entering sales mode», and «Type of business».
Account settings tab in detail
- «Update program» — updates the POS, see Install and update.
- «Use pre-beta server» — switches the POS to a test server. Only when instructed by support.
- «Disable HTTPS connection» — the POS talks to the cloud over HTTP instead of HTTPS. Only when instructed by support.
- «Create network credential» — creates network access to this computer's database so other registers of the outlet can connect to it. The POS shows the computer's IP and tries to open the required Windows firewall port itself (if it fails, it asks you to open the port manually). See Several registers in one outlet.
- «Change account» and «Change the database» — service operations for re-binding the POS. Both rename the POS's local database file into a backup copy. «Change the database» then closes the POS and runs the starter program to reconnect; «Change account» erases the program's settings on this computer and simply closes the POS. Make sure all orders are uploaded and the shift is closed first; run only together with support.
- «Open log» — opens the local log file for diagnostics.
- The proxy URL field — despite the name, not a proxy server: the POS uses the address entered here as the main Paloma365 cloud address instead of the standard one (it can be picked from a list). Change it only when instructed by support.
Sync tab in detail
The modes («This PC performs sync», «Disable sync», «Sync only receipts») and the «Use product images» checkbox that downloads product pictures to the POS. Next to it is «Использовать WebP (libwebp.dll)» (use WebP): without it, pictures in WebP format are not downloaded to the POS. If the required file fails to load when you tick it, the POS reports that libwebp.dll could not be loaded (check that the file is in the program folder and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015–2022) and unticks the box.
Service buttons:

| «Reload the receipt» | Re-uploads one specific closed order to the cloud: enter the closing date and the order number. Useful when a single sale did not appear in the dashboard. |
All four are service operations — run them when support recommends it.
The same tab has the «Выгрузить настройки в базу» (upload settings to the database) button — a one-time transfer of this workplace's settings from the computer into the database, so they can be managed from the dashboard. The POS asks for confirmation (values already set in the dashboard stay unchanged) and then shows the result: written / already present / no value / errors, with counts. Delivery settings tab in detail
Delivery request behavior: «Delivery request», «Display all the orders in a list», «Cooking time by default», «Display buttons: create order, print», «Print sticker for new orders», «Sound notification», «Auto-print paid orders (rahmet, tuvis)», «Auto-close paid orders (rahmet, tuvis, tester)», «Запрашивать время приготовления (tuvis)» (ask for the cooking time), «Auto-cancel unaccepted orders», «New delivery interface», «Extended request window», «Close paid request after (min)», «Wait for courier status (tuvis)».
Common problems
- "Ошибка при подключении к логам... Пересоздание логов не удалось..." — the POS could not open or recreate its own log (the "Logs" tab). Sales are unaffected, but diagnostics without the log are blind — message us here.
- "Ошибка открытия шаблона отчёта..." — the template file of the print form you are opening for editing was not found. A program update usually helps.
- "Не найдены необходимые файлы", "Функция не найдена", "Произошла ошибка..." on the "POSUA light control" tab — the library for that hardware is missing or unresponsive. Harmless if you do not use light control; message us here if you do.
Settings password unknown or lost
If nobody changed it, try 00000. If it was changed and lost, message us here — a specialist will join — it cannot be recovered from the POS screen.
A setting does not stick
Many blocks require their own Save button; some settings apply after a POS restart; and settings are local — repeat the change on every computer. If «Хранить настройки в базе (управление из кабинета)» is enabled on the POS, this workplace's value may have been changed from the dashboard — the POS then applies the dashboard value on sync. FAQ
Do these settings apply to all registers? No — they are local to one computer. Outlet-wide parameters live in the web dashboard.
Can I update the POS from this window? Yes — Update program on the Account settings tab; see Install and update.
A button disappeared from the sales screen — how do I bring it back? Open POS settings → Program appearance tab. Buttons are hidden with «Hide …» checkboxes and added with «Show …» checkboxes — see Program appearance tab.
