Time-Based Prices

The time-based prices guide configures prices that change depending on the time of day.

Overview

Time-based prices allow setting different prices for items at different times of the day. This is useful for happy hour pricing, lunch specials, or time-differentiated tariffs. When a POS sale occurs during a defined time range, the time-based price overrides the item's default price.

Step-by-Step Guide

Adding a Time-Based Price

  1. Go to Guides > Time-Based Prices.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Select the Item.
  4. Set the Time range (e.g. 12:00–15:00 for lunch specials).
  5. Enter the Price valid during that time.
  6. Click Save.

Example

"Draft Beer" normally costs 1500 KZT, but during happy hour (17:00–19:00) it costs 1000 KZT:

  • Item: Draft Beer
  • Time range: 17:00 – 19:00
  • Price: 1000

Printing a time price card

  1. Open the time price from the list.
  2. Click Print in the top bar of the card.
  3. In the print dialog, choose a printer or save as PDF.

The printout contains the name, code, valid dates and hours, weekdays, the selected trading points and the full list of rows: items with a time price and categories with a time-based sale ban. It prints what the card currently shows, even if you have not clicked Save yet.

If the print window does not open, allow pop-ups for the dashboard site in your browser settings. Employees without the print right for time prices do not see the Print button.

Saving a time price card to Excel

The Excel button next to Print downloads the same card as an Excel file: the name, code, valid dates and hours, weekdays and trading points at the top, followed by a table of all rows. Prices are written as numbers, so you can sort and sum them. The button is available to the same employees as Print.

FAQ

What happens outside the time range?

Outside the defined time range, the item uses its standard price from the items guide or retail prices.

Can I set multiple time ranges for the same item?

Yes. You can create multiple time-based price entries for the same item with different time windows and prices.

Do time-based prices override retail prices?

Yes. When a time-based price is active, it takes priority over both the base price and retail price type prices.
