Overview

Rows are items, columns are hours of the day. For every hour the report can show the quantity sold, the average sale price and the amount. The last column holds the total per item, the last row holds the total of all items for each hour.

A sale belongs to the hour in which the bill was closed: a bill closed at 14:35 goes into the "14:00" column.

Hour columns run from the first to the last hour that had sales, so the empty hours before opening and after closing take no space. An hour without sales inside that range stays as an empty column.

Filters

FilterDescriptionRequired
Sales PointOne sales point or all of themNo
PeriodPer shift / for period / shifts for periodYes
  • Per shift — pick a sales point, then a shift from the list.
  • For period — bills closed within the selected time range.
  • Shifts for period — shifts that were opened and closed within the selected time range.

Parameters

ParameterWhat it does
Hide pricesHides the average price column in each hour. On by default
Hide quantityHides the quantity column in each hour
Hide amountHides the amount column in each hour
Group by sale priceIf an item was sold at different prices, each price gets its own row with a "Sale price" column
Show number of bills per hourInstead of the per-item breakdown, shows one total row: how many bills were closed in each hour and for what amount

If quantity, prices and amount are all hidden, only the per-item totals remain — without hour columns.

In the "Show number of bills per hour" mode, "Hide quantity", "Hide prices" and "Group by sale price" are unavailable: the quantity there is the number of bills, and an average price per bill is not calculated.

Columns

ColumnDescription
#Row number
ItemItem name
Sale priceThe price the item was sold at (only when grouping by sale price)
QtyQuantity sold in the hour (in the bill-count mode — the number of bills)
PriceAverage sale price in the hour: amount divided by quantity
AmountSales amount in the hour
TotalSales amount of the item for the whole period

The report receives amounts and average prices from the server already rounded to whole numbers.

A built report can be sorted and filtered without building it again.

  • Sorting — click the "Item", "Sale price" or "Total" column header, or "Qty", "Price", "Amount" under the hour you need. The first click sorts ascending, the second descending, the third returns to the order by item name. The arrow next to the header shows the current sort. Items with no sales in the selected hour always go to the end of the list.
  • Search — start typing an item name in the box above the table: only items whose name contains the text stay in the table right away. The cross on the right clears the search.

While a search is on, the "Total" row covers only the items found — so you can see, for example, how many coffee drinks were sold in each hour. A caption with the search text appears under the table.

Excel and PDF export and printing keep what you see on screen: the items found, in the chosen order.

In the "Show number of bills per hour" mode there are no item rows, so search and sorting are not available there.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Pick a sales point or leave "[All]".
  2. Choose the period.
  3. Turn on the parameters you need.
  4. Click Build Report.
  5. If needed, sort the table by clicking a column header or find an item with the search box.
  6. To save or print, use the export button: Excel, PDF or print.

Tips

  • To spot peak revenue hours, keep only the amount — the table becomes three times narrower.
  • To see how busy the till is, turn on "Show number of bills per hour".
  • Only the main lines of a bill are counted; lines nested inside another line are not counted separately. Items whose total quantity for an hour is zero are not shown.

FAQ

Why is the sum of the hour columns smaller than "Total"?

The hour comes from the bill's close time, so only bills that have one get into the hour columns. If you build the report per shift and that shift still has open bills, their sales go into "Total" but into no hour. The for period report selects bills by close time, so bills without one do not get into it at all.

How is this different from the "Hourly Sales" chart in analytics?

The chart in Analytics shows total revenue per hour. This report breaks each hour's sales down by item and shows quantity and average price.
