FAQ
Can one item appear in multiple menus?
Yes. Items are referenced by menus, so the same item can be included in several menus with different layouts.
How do I reorder items on the terminal screen?
Use the visual designer to drag and drop items into the desired positions within the grid layout.
What happens if I delete an item from the menu?
The item is removed from the POS terminal display but remains in the items catalog. It can be re-added at any time.
Folders (categories) don't show on the POS — how do I control their visibility?
First check whether the Menu field is set on the automated point card: it decides where the POS takes folders from.
Paloma365 Classic (Windows POS):
- The point has a menu. The POS shows the folders and items of that menu, laid out as in the designer. A folder that is not in the menu will not appear — add it to the menu. If a folder or item was deleted in the Items catalog, it disappears from the POS even if it is still in the menu designer.
- No menu is set. The POS builds its tiles straight from the Items catalog and shows only folders and items with the Use in menu switch on. Turn it on in the card of the folder itself: while a folder is hidden, its items cannot be opened from the tiles.
- The menu opens at the wrong folder, or some folders are missing. Without a menu, the POS starts at the workplace's Root folder (point card → Workplaces tab), or, if that is empty, at the point's Main menu folder. You cannot go above that folder. Set it back to the root to see the whole catalog. When the point has a menu, the POS ignores both fields.
After making changes, wait for the POS to sync.
Paloma POS 2: a folder with Use in menu turned off is hidden as well. The menu pinned to a point, the point's main folder and the workplace root folder are covered in Sales points and workplaces.
