FAQ

Can a certificate be used partially?

No. Each certificate blank (barcode) is redeemed once: on redemption the usage date is recorded, and the same barcode will not be accepted again.

Can a certificate expire?

Yes. With the option "Certificate is valid for specified number of days from sale date" — once that number of days has passed. With "Certificate can only be used during specified time period" — after the End Date.

The certificate shows as sold but can't be used — why?

When a certificate is redeemed, the register checks the blank on the server. A sold blank is refused in these cases:

  • The validity in days has run out. It is counted from the blank's sale date. If Days Count is 0, the certificate stops being valid right after the sale. The number of days is stored on the blank at the moment of sale — changing it in the guide later does not affect blanks already sold.
  • The date window has not started yet or is already over — with "only during specified time period" the blank is accepted only between the Start Date and the End Date.
  • The blank has already been used — it cannot be redeemed twice.
  • The barcode belongs to a different certificate. A certificate is accepted through a discount of type Certificates, and the blank is looked up only among the barcodes of the certificate selected in that discount's Certificate field. If the blank was created under another certificate, the register will not find it.
  • The sale of the blank was not recorded — a blank without a sale date is not accepted for payment.

To check a blank, open Guides > Certificates → the certificate card → the Barcodes block: each barcode shows its Sale Date and Date Used.

Can I issue a certificate without a client?

Yes. The client field is optional. Certificates without a linked client can be used by anyone who has the code.
